NVIDIA/Mellanox MMA1Z00-NS400 Compatible 400GBASE-SR4 QSFP112 PAM4 850nm 50m DOM MPO-12/APC InfiniBand NDR Optical Transceiver Module - F-tone

Transceivers Type

SFP Optical Transceiver

Specifications

NVIDIA/Mellanox MMA1Z00-NS400 Compatible 400G QSFP112 SR4 PAM4 Optical Transceiver Module (850nm, 50m, MPO-12 APC Connectors, MMF, 0℃ to +70℃, DOM)

The NVIDIA/Mellanox MMA1Z00-NS400 Compatible 400GBASE-SR4 QSFP112 transceiver module supports a max data rate of 425Gbps. It enables the fiber link of 50m over MMF with MPO-12 APC connectors. F-tone manufactured SR4 QSFP112 complies with 400G InfiniBand NDR, QSFP112 MSA, CMIS Rev 5.0, RoHS, IEEE 802.3df-2024 4x100GBASE-SR1/2x200GBASE-SR2/1x400GBASE-SR4 optical interface and 4x100GAUI-1/2x200GAUI-2/1x400GAUI-4 C2M electrical interface. DDM function is supported on the 400G fiber optic transceiver to achieve real-time operating parameters monitoring. Adopting the Pulse-amplitude Modulation (PAM4) electrical and optical modulation, the Short Reach 4-channel (SR4) QSFP112 achieves 400 Gigabit Ethernet through 4-channels of 100G-PAM4.

This 400G SR4 QSFP112 supports both InfiniBand NDR (IB) and Ethernet (ETH). While not for use in switches, it is designed for insertion into 400Gb/s ConnectX-7/QSFP112-based PCIe-bus network cards or BlueField-3/QSFP112 Data Processing Units (DPUs) to twin-port 800G transceivers in 2x400G IB/EN switches. Its most typical application scenario is: A pair of single-port flat top 400G SR4 QSFP112 (MMA1Z00-NS400) is independently connected to one of the connectors of the twin-port  800G 2x400G 2SR4 OSFP (MMA4Z00-NS) module in a Quantum-2 InfiniBand or Spectrum-4 Ethernet switch. The MMA1Z00-NS400 400G module can operate in either 400Gb/s or 200Gb/s speed modes, depending on the number of connected fiber optic cables. This allows for corresponding connectivity scenarios of 800G to 2x 400GBASE-SR4 and 4x 200GBASE-SR4 breakout applications, respectively.
